Lilliput & The Children of Lír

We walked among 30 swans on tuesday on the shores of beautiful Lough Ennell!Totally unspoiled this midlands lake is renowned for its fishing water sports scenery but it is also famous for its little piece of shore called Lilliput the inspiration for Dean Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels!

It is said that when he looked back to shore from the middle of the lake the people appeared tiny and the rest is history!
Not so far away is lough Derravaragh home of The Children of Lír for centuries!

A lovely county full of history and lore!
Our lilliputian had a great day and she’s learning the legends already!

You don’t have to go to Killarney to discover Ireland sure there’s a scéal nua on every turn of the road if you look for it!
