Farewell to Yogi.
Like mist this is spreading
It rips out my spleen
Although it sounds doleful
We must quarantine
Our old faithful friend
Left us today
Our beautiful dog
Went on his way
We laid him behind
The evergreen trees
A robin consoled
By being with me
Trees filled with laughter
Woods filled with menace
Bumble bees searching
For Bellis Perennis
Those in Fine Gael
And Fianna Fáil.
Have joined with the greens
To dance at the ball
Chrysanthemums pouting
In sweet Avondale
Charles Stuart the King
In search of his grail
First time this summer
We witnessed her scent
The gay honeysuckle
As onwards we went.
Back soon…sláinte.
