Count John McCormack # Christy Moore.

The wondrous waters
Of mighty Lough Neagh
Where close to the shore
Spring lambs leap and play
To sit by the fireside
In dreamy Kilronan
Reading the poems
Of Wordsworth or Cronin
Literary people
Ahearne’s Palace Bar
Half of The Times
Having a jar
Then up and away
For one in McDaid’s
Or Old Castle Inn
All sorts of charades
Rock with his candy
And the store on the hill
The Catholic Church
Remonstrating the pill
The weather’s not great
A bad crop of onions
Yet nine irons are swinging
In wild Ballybunnion
A Count from the Abbey
In Monasterevin
Tenoring arias
From noon till eleven
Across some lush fields
A singer named Moore
He took from the rich
And gave to the poor.

Back soon…sláinte.
