The Fastnet # Johnny Rotten

At sacred Lough Derg
As black thunder crashes
It’s rushing fresh waters
Drench Angela’s Ashes
White crosses are standing
In long even rows
Processions of loved ones
Wave as they go
The Fastnet stands rigid
Waves blot out the moon
Our impregnable lighthouse
No place for buffoons
The Lark in the Morning
With Fiddler Glackin
And Lunny from Prosperous
Skillfully backing
They followed this up
With The Swallow’s Tail reel
Bowing and strumming
With no little zeal
Clancy the piper
Knew how to behave
If he lived here today
He’d turn in his grave
Johnny the Pistol
Sang God Save the Queen
Punk rock was rampant
‘Twas grand and obscene.

Away I must go….Sláinte !
