Plog …. ( Poetry blog)

Jerry Kiernan # Larry King # Ballymun

Steps through the bog
With pony and halter
Placed with great care
The Faddan More Psalter
The clock it has stopped
For music’s Phil Spector
Pints and hot scones
Clouseau the inspector
A new president
For U S of A
God’s health and God’s speed
On this your first day
Goodbye to a great
One Jerry Kiernan
Pounding the roads
From Cobh to Kilternan
Belting Tom Jones
And that Old Oak Tree
Welcoming us home
Were Peters and Lee
A stretch in the days
The first buds of Spring
From Tulsk to Ardee
Rest well Larry King
Adios to The Towers
Of old Ballymun
I wonder did Patrick
Wear a man bun.

Beidh mé ar ais…Sláinte.
